CNTIC project in Bangladesh makes breakthrough with first transformer placed

The first batch of transformer for the 230kV and 132kV power transmission system of Bangladesh’s Energy Efficiency in Grid Based Power Supply Project was placed on October 1, marking a major breakthrough in the construction of the project.

Transformer is the core equipment for a power transmission station, and whether it can be placed properly is very important. The CNTIC team overcame challenges brought about by the pandemic and made rounds after rounds of communications with the project owner, shipping service provider and the construction contractor. It organized multiple road surveys and formulated a special shipping protocol to ensure the successful unloading and placement of the transformer. This laid a solid foundation for the installation and adjustment of follow-up devices and equipment, and also accumulated experience in transporting large heavy equipment for similar projects.

The power transmission system is the largest project under Bangladesh’s Energy Efficiency in Grid Based Power Supply Project funded by the German KfW Development Bank. In the future, CNTIC will give full support to the project and further advance localized business operation.
