International Energy

Enhancing international energy projects We have been intensively exploring the international market. Our localization strategy has enabled us to gain a foothold in many countries with a business model integrating investment and construction with operations. We maintain productive assets devoted to clean electric energy around the world. Today, our company is responsible for around 3,000MW of clean power generation capacity in major markets like Europe and South Asia. At the same time, we are actively implementing projects focused on power generation from wind, solar, and natural gas in a greenfield development model. Over the next three years, our total installed capacity for power generation is expected to reach 8,000MW.

PR3 50MW PV Project in Spain

Spain is blessed with abundant solar resources. According to its national plan for energy development, Spain will increase its installed solar power capacity by 3 GW every year by 2030, posing huge potential in the new energy market. On September 8, 2022, CMC Europe and Hefesto Solar SL, a subsidiary of MET Group, signed an EPC agreement on building the PR3 50MW photovoltaic power station in Spain. The project is the first EPC project Genertec has inked in Spain, marking a new breakthrough the company has made in expanding its presence in the Spanish market.
Agreement for Manduria PV Plant in Italy Signed

Italy is rich in solar power resources, and its electricity market is highly open. According to its National Energy Strategy, Italy plans to increase its installed PV capacity by adding 2.5 GW annually by 2030. This means a broad market prospect.On October 13, 2022, CMC Europe (Italy) and Ikarus S.r.l., a subsidiary of GÉNÉRALE DU SOLAIRE (GDS), signed the EPC agreement for the Manduria 7MW PV plant in Italy. The project is the first EPC project Genertec has inked in Spain, marking a new breakthrough the company has made in expanding its presence in the Italian market of engineering contracting.
100MW Photovoltaic Power Station Project in Kaposvar, Hungary

The CMC’s 100MW Photovoltaic Power Station Project in Kaposvar is the largest of its kind in Hungary and even Central and Eastern Europe at large. It has been included in the List of Priorities of the Hungarian government and the white paper on new energy development issued by China’s State Council.
Ivovik 84MW Wind Power Project, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The project is jointly invested and constructed by CNTIC and POWERCHINA Resources Limited, and it will be the first new energy investment, construction and operation project successfully implemented by the Company in Europe. It will become the largest new energy power generation project in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as the largest energy project invested and constructed by Chinese enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina after its completion.
Payra 2×660MW Ultra-Supercritical Coal-Fired Power Plant Project, Bangladesh

As the largest-ever power plant project in Bangladesh, the project was jointly invested, constructed, operated and built by CMC and Bangladesh’s North-West Power Generation Co., Ltd. The completion of the project marked Bangladesh becoming the first country in South Asia to achieve full coverage of electric power supply.
Manjung 1×1000MW Coal-Fired Power Plant Project, Malaysia

The project was constructed by a consortium formed by CMC and France-based Alstom. It was contracted through international competitive bidding and is a super large turnkey project integrating design and construction. The power plant is the first megawatt unit power plant in Southeast Asia and is contracted by Chinese enterprises in the international high-end market in the form of turnkey.
PLTU Adipala Cilacap 1x660MW Super Critical Coal Fired Power Plant Project, Indonesia

The Adipala 1x660MW Supercritical Coal-fired Power Plant Project in Indonesia of CNTIC is the closing work of the first "10 million kilowatts package power plant construction project" in Indonesia, and the first EPC construction project of supercritical coal-fired generating units constructed by Chinese enterprises in Indonesia.
500MW Renewable Energy Projects, Bangladesh

The 500 MW Renewable Energy Power Station Project in Bangladesh is jointly funded by CMC and NWPGCL. It is the largest PV project invested by Chinese enterprises in Bangladesh at present.

Global Auto Industry Operations

Expanding the vehicle trade worldwide
Our subsidiary China National Vehicle Import and Export Corporation (CVC) was founded in 1984 as China’s only company authorized to import automobiles. We have undertaken an extensive range of projects related to government procurement of automobiles, vehicle trading, introduction of automobile production technology, and importing of dedicated vehicles for state guests and special vehicles. We have imported more than 1 million vehicles of various types with a total value of more than US$10 billion. With focus ranging from mid-range to high-end luxury brands such as Toyota, Mercedes Benz, and Lincoln, our company has formed an authorized dealership network covering Beijing, Guangzhou, Tangshan, Hohhot, Shantou, and Chongqing. In response to the Belt and Road Initiative, in recent years, our company has been leveraging edges in vehicle trading to enhance international cooperation in production capacity, expand our presence in Central Asia, and build an integrated platform for production and sales. Seizing development opportunities brought by the shift to electric, smart, and web-connected vehicles, we have forayed into new-energy vehicles and new infrastructure to provide a wide range of related products and services.

Allur Auto Investment Project, Kazakhstan

The project is an outcome of CMC and JAC Motors’ in-depth participation in the industry policy adjustment and industrialization layout of Kazakhstan, as a move to advance the Belt and Road Initiative and the production capacity cooperation between China and Kazakhstan.
Procurement of Special Vehicles

CVC first engaged in the special vehicle business in 1984. For years, it has imported batches after batches of internationally leading fire-fighting vehicles and equipment with great practical value for China’s fire departments, making great contributions to improving the equipment of fire departments and enhancing the capability for fire prevention and control, as well as firefighting and rescue work.

Providing quality tendering service
Our subsidiary China International Tendering Co., Ltd (ITC) was China’s earliest tendering agency with fullest-range certifications. Our services cover tendering and contract management for loans by international financial institutions, intergovernmental loans and grants, investment via government spending, government procurement, corporate finance, and classified military industrial projects. So far, we have completed more than 20,000 projects, and the total value of its tender-based procurement has surpassed 2 trillion yuan.
Another subsidiary, China General Consulting & Investment Co., Ltd. (CGCI), has been working to improve procurement management. We improve mechanisms and systems related to centralized procurement services, empower businesses with digital technology, and build a supply chain system to improve procurement management, stabilize the industrial and supply chain, lower costs, and improve efficiency in a coordinated manner.

Procurement of High-speed Trains

Through continuous efforts in ,meetings, competitive negotiations and cost-effective procurement, ITC spearheaded the introduction and innovation of technology for high-speed trains, upgrading the speed from 250 km/h to 350 km/h. Centralized procurement hit a new record, playing an exemplary role in building a system for independent innovation on China’s high-speed railway.

Our subsidiaries CNTIC and CMC are both vice-chairman member units of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products and the China International Contractors Association. We have been on the ENR Top International Contractors list for years.

Ankara-Istanbul High-speed Railway Project, Turkey

CMC’s Ankara-Istanbul High-speed Railway Project in Turkey is the first electrified high-speed railway project undertaken by Chinese enterprises overseas, which is of great strategic significance to promote the “going global” strategy” of China’s high-speed railway.
Salt Refining Project, Egypt

The Salt Refining Project constructed by CNTIC in Egypt is the first complete set of plants in North Africa undertaken by China in the form of EPC and has been the largest overseas contracting project in China's salt chemical industry so far.
Southern Sri Lanka Railway Project

Constructed by CMC under an EPC contract, the project is Sri Lanka’s first modern railway undertaken by a Chinese enterprise in Sri Lanka, and also the first new railway in Sri Lanka in nearly 100 years. Its construction created multiple records in Sri Lanka, including the longest railway bridge (the 1.5-kilometer-long Wattegama Bridge), the highest railway bridge (the 18.2-meter-tall Weralagoda Bridge), the longest railway tunnel (the 615-meter-long Nakuttiya Tunnel), and the biggest and most modern train station (the Beliatta Railway Station).
Guyana Skelton Sugar Factory Project

The Guyana Skelton Sugar Factory Project of CMC is the largest sugar factory in Guyana and even in the Caribbean, with an annual output of 80,000 tons of raw sugar.
MTBE Production Installations At The Arzew Industrial Zone，Algeria

The project was undertaken by a consortium of CNTIC and Luoyang Petrochemical Engineering Corporation Ltd/SINOPEC, with a total amount of about USD 466 million. The estimated production capacity is about 200,000 t/a.
Dhaka-Ashulia Elevated Expressway Project, Bangladesh

The Dhaka-Ashulia Elevated Expressway Project in Bangladesh constructed by CMC was listed in the Memorandum of Understanding on key cooperation projects between the Governments of China and Bangladesh. It was one of the major projects that the Governments of China and Bangladesh focused on, as well as one of the major projects in the field of transportation infrastructure in Bangladesh in recent years, with a total contract value of about USD 1.36 billion.
Tỉnh Cà Mau Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant Project in Vietnam

The annual production capacity of CMC's Tỉnh Cà Mau Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant Project in Vietnam was 800,000 tons, which effectively helped to fill the nitrogen fertilizer volume gap in Vietnam.
Ittihad Paper Mill Project, UAE

The ITTIHAD Paper Mill Project of CMC in the United Arab Emirates is expected to have an annual output of 300,000 tons. It is the first modern printing and writing paper production plant with the latest technology and the most advanced equipment in the Gulf Cooperation Council members and the Middle East and North Africa.

With focus on promoting comprehensive usage of energy through consulting services, our company invested greatly to develop two lines of business devoted to energy saving and green development in China, respectively, which have contributed considerably to the national goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. Subsidiary CGCI was one of the first centrally-administered enterprises to provide professional services in policy consultancy, industrial park planning, industry promotion, investment attraction, and project financing for urban infrastructure and environmental protection. Energy Storage Project on User Side of Jiangsu Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited

This project is located in Liyang City, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It is the largest electrochemical energy storage project in Changzhou, and also the largest liquid-cooled energy storage system on the user side in China at present.
Distributed Photovoltaic Power Generation Project of Topfond Pharmaceutical

The average annual power generation capacity of the project is expected to reach 6.28 million kWh after completion, which can reduce about 3700 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions for Tianfang Pharmaceuticals each year.
Distributed Photovoltaic Power Generation Project of Beijing Precision Machinery & Engineering Research Co., Ltd.

The project will provide an average of 1,702,700 kWh of clean electricity, save about 681.09 tons of standard coal, and reduce about 1,603.81 tons of CO2 emissions per year after completion.

We have devoted vigorous efforts towards market development in regions of national strategic importance including the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta area, Southwestern China, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Xiong’an New Area, and the Hainan Free Trade Zone. Building a complete market network and development system has been an ongoing effort for many years. We provide consulting services on project design, tendering, management, supervision, and cost control throughout the life cycle of engineering projects. We have provided consultancy services for government departments and major clients including the China (Hainan) Technology Transfer and Commercialization Center, Xiong’an New Area, and Shanghai Chengtou Group Corporation. Our efforts have consistently and exponentially improved the efficiency of clients’ construction projects.

Whole-process Consulting Service for an LNG Project in Taizhou, Zhejiang

The project consists of three tasks: land formation, terminal and waterway building, and receiving terminal construction, of which the construction scale of Phase I is 3 million t/a and the planned construction scale of Phase II is 6.5 million t/a. Two 100,000-ton LNG ships receiving and unloading terminals and eight LNG storage tanks are also included in the plan.
