On December 20, the Pharmaceutical and Medical Innovation Technology Exchange Activity and the Launch Ceremony of the HaiTech.Hub was held in Haikou, signifying the official launch of the HaiTech.Hub. (Genertec International); Chen Jie, Director-General of Hainan Provincial Department of Science and Technology; and Feng Yong, Vice Mayor of Haikou Municipal People’s Government, attended the launch ceremony. The HaiTech.Hub seeks to further raise the efficiency of transfer and commercialization of sci-tech achievements by forging a professional and international service platform. During the event, Haikou Jiangdong New Area Administration signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Genertec (Hainan) Technology Innovation Development Co., Ltd. Relevant experts delivered keynote addresses and participated in a roundtable discussion.
The HaiTech.Hub is co-established by Genertec International, Hainan Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Haikou Municipal People’s Government. Leveraging the preferential policy of Hainan Free Trade Port—zero tariffs, low tax rates and simplified tax structures, it strives to build itself into a destination of choice for introducing international sci-tech achievements and fueling the global expansion of domestic sci-tech innovations. This initiative stays committed to establishing a domestic demonstration zone for technology trade innovation and a central hub for technology transfer and commercialization in Hainan. It is designed to create an open framework that enables the “Global Buying and Selling” of sci-tech achievements, thereby injecting fresh impetus into accelerating greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology.
Based in the Genertec Ecological Environment Building, the HaiTech.Hub will develop a technology transfer system that integrates “online platforms, offline carriers, incubation services, and sci-tech innovation policy packages.” It provides support from exhibitions and trade to the incubation and industrialization of sci-tech achievements. This system will effectively eliminate obstructions and breakages in the commercialization of sci-tech achievements, rendering one-stop services for innovation entities.
